WUCF highlighted Evans Community School in a segment about the school and an interview with Michael Frumkin, dean of the College of Health and Public Affairs at the University of Central Florida, during its airing of American Graduate Day on Saturday, Sept. 27.
American Graduate Day is an annual television show produced by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to celebrate “… the exceptional work of individuals and groups across the country who are … helping local youth stay on track to college and career successes.” The daylong show features national and local television programming, both live and prerecorded.
WUCF, the Central Florida affiliate of the Public Broadcasting Service, aired spotlights on local innovations in education during the show. The spotlights included an overview of Evans Community School in Orlando and an interview with Frumkin about the community school concept and establishment of Evans Community School.
